Financial Assistance

The Fishing Partnership Health Plan (FPHP) provides high quality health care coverage at lower costs to eligible members of the fishing industry. But health coverage is not inexpensive, and FPHP premiums are set annually based on your previous year’s Gross Adjusted Income no matter what happens to your income during the year.

No members of the fishing community need go without health care coverage because of money. You may be eligible for other programs to make your health coverage affordable, and we are here to help.

Some FPHP members and others in the fishing industry may be eligible for additional financial help to pay for health coverage from other private and public programs. No one should decide against applying for FPHP coverage because they cannot afford the premiums. And FPHP members who are having difficulty paying their monthly premiums should also contact us for assistance. Some programs such as MassHealth may be a better choice for you than the FPHP. Some FPHP members are also eligible for other types of financial assistance.

The Insurance Partnership (IP) is a great program that can help self-employed persons or small businesses with uninsured employees pay for health insurance. The Insurance Partnership is not a health plan. The Insurance Partnership helps pay for health insurance.

No matter what your financial situation may be or how it may change, members of the fishing industry should always contact us before applying for healthcare coverage and especially before losing their healthcare coverage because they cannot afford to pay.
